Semiconductor Fabrication and Characterization Techniques (FABTech-2011)

About The School

The Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics of the University of Calcutta, a UGC Networking Resource Centre in Physical Sciences in India, has organized a Winter School on “Semiconductor Fabrication and Characterization techniques (FAB-Tech)” during Feb 14th – March 4th 2011.

The purpose of the school was to impart training to participants on the various aspects of semiconductor materials growth and fabrication of electronic and optoelectronic devices.

A number of theoretical lecture sessions were conducted to familiarize the participants with the topic and to introduce them to various advanced topics. Simultaneously, laboratory sessions were conducted so that the participants obtained hand-on experience in the device fabrication steps. Special emphasis was given such that the participants were involved in all the steps of device design, fabrication, as well as testing.

Visits

A visit to the Center for Research in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of the University was arranged for the participants. In one weekend, a bus-tour was arranged for the participants to an excursion to Phuleswar, Howrah.
