DANIELLE VANHOENACKER-JANVIER received the degree of Electrical Engineer
in 1978, and the Ph. D. degree in Applied Sciences from the Université
catholique de Louvain (U.C.L.), Belgium, in 1987. She is Professor since
2000, at the Microwave Laboratory. She is head of the Laboratory since
September 2001. She is involved in the study of atmospheric effects
on propagation above 10 GHz for more then 25 years. She extended her
research activity in the field of analysis and modelling of the mobile
propagation channel, indoor and outdoor, and in the evaluation of its
impact on communication systems. The channel modelling group is specialised
in the multiple input multiple output systems (MIMO) and is involved
in ESA and EEC projects (COST, MEDEA+) and Networks.
She has authored more than 120 technical papers and is co-author of
a book. D. Vanhoenacker-Janvier is reviewer for various international
conferences and IEEE and IEE journals. She is chairperson of the Belgian
chapter AP/MTT.
