GAUTAM CHAKRABORTY did B.Sc. in Physics from Presidency College, Calcutta University and B.Tech. and M.Tech. from Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, Calcutta University. He received his Ph.D. in 1993 from Tohoku University, Japan. During 1981 to 1989 he was with the Department of Telecommunication in India.
Presently he is Professor and Head of Intelligent Informatics Laboratory, in the department of Software and Information science, Iwate Prefectural University, Japan. His research interests are Neural Network, Genetic algorithm, Swarm Intelligence, Fuzzy logic, Rough Set etc. and their applications to solve different classification, scheduling and optimization problems including applications to Computer Networks and mobile networking.
