KALYAN BASU

KALYAN BASU (basu@cse.uta.edu) is currently the director of Biological Network Research team at University of Texas at Arlington's Center for Research in Wireless Mobility and Networking (CREWMAN) and faculty of Computer Science Department. He is actively involved in the research of wireless and computer networks also. He has more than 30 years of telecommunication industry experience. Last 27 years he was involved in telecommunication system research, and most of that time he worked for Nortel research group and Bell Northern Research. He retired from Nortel research group as Director of Wireless Research in the year 2001 and joined University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). He has received more than 20 European and US patents and published more than 100 technical papers in the journals and different technical conferences. He has been involved in the professional organizations like IEEE/ACM to organize conferences, work as the technical committee members, review the journal and conference papers and chaired technical sessions. He obtained his B.E.E. degree from Calcutta University, India and his MS from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India.
