P.BANERJEE, M.Sc (Physics) and Ph.D on PLL (both from Burdwan Univeristy), Joined National Physical Laboratory (NPL), New Delhi in 1976 and now working as Senior Deputy Director, Scientist G in NPL and Head of Time and Frequency Section. More than thirty years' experience in Time Scale Generation, Time dissemination techniques via geostationary satellite, NNSS, GPS and GLONASS: communication system; electronics instrumentations; development of microprocessor-based system etc. Working on GPS since mid 80's.Received Young Scientist Award in 1984 from International Union of Radio Science (URSI)Vice Chairman in Commission A of Electromagnetic Metrology of URSINPL Award in 1979 for "Updating Time & Frequency Standards" Barkner Membership Grant Award for AGU membership (1987-88) IETE-Hari Ramji Toshniwal Gold Medal in 2006 Senior DAAD Fellowship in 2000 Fellow of IEE (UK) Senior Member of IEEE(USA) Fellow IETE Fellow, Metrology Society of India (MSI), Associate Editor, Radio Science Bulletin, URSI, Published more than 60 papers in National and International Journals and delivered many invited talks in India and abroad.
