PAUL CRISTEA
PAUL CRISTEA graduated the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications
(University "Politehnica" of Bucharest, UPB) in 1962, the Faculty
of Physics (University of Bucharest) in 1969, and obtained the Ph.D. in
Technical Physics (UPB) in 1970. His research and teaching activities
have been in a large range of domains related to Electrical Engineering
and several connected fields, including Digital Signal and Image Processing,
Genomic Signals, Connectionist and Evolutionary Systems, Intelligent e-Learning
Environments, Computerized Medical Equipment and Special Electrical Batteries.
He is the author or co-author of more then 125 published papers, 13 patents,
and contributed to more than 20 books in these fields. Currently, he is
professor and coordinator of the Electrical Engineering and Computers
Division of the Faculty of Engineering of UPB, general manager of the
Bio-Medical Engineering Center of UPB and director of the Romanian Bioinformatics
Society. Starting this year, he is a corresponding member of the Romanian
Academy.
